Donovan McNabb, QB - When healthy, McNabb is one of the more dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL. Unfortunately he just cant seem to make it through a season in one piece. Still, he is usually good for the first 9 or 10 games and can give your fantasy team some strong outings before he goes down. And if he should somehow make it through a season? Huge bonus! Just make sure you draft his back-up or a decent QB as your back-up.
Brian Westbrook, RB - Westbrook is like a sleeping giant. Nobody talks about wanting him on their team but yet when he is healthy he puts up very steady and strong numbers. In 2006 he only had three games that he wouldn't have put up double digits in fantasy points. Yet again, you need to worry about him staying healthy. Hopefully his 15 games in 2006 is the start of a new trend.
Kevin Curtis, WR - At best you can expect 700 yards and 6 TD's. I'm not sure if I would expect that much though. The problem with any Philadelphia receiver is that too many passes go to Westbrook.
Reggie Brown, WR - Brown stepped his game up and proved he had #2 WR ability in 2006. His 816 yards and 8 TD's just aren't worthy of a #1 WR on a fantasy team. For now he is worthy of a mid round draft pick but could step up and produce even better in his third year.
Hank Baskett, WR - His rookie season, Baskett had 464 yards and 2 TD's. In his last game of 2006, he pulled in 7 passes for 177 yards and a TD. Until he proves he can be counted on for decent numbers for a whole season, don't draft him very high.
L.J. Smith, TE - Not one of the top Tight Ends on the board but better than average. Count on Smith for 600+ yards and 4+ TD's.
ROOKIES
Kevin Kolb, QB - Will sit a season or two and be ready for when McNabb gets hurt. Which will likely be around week ten. |
